-if you want a good time in south africa, hang out w the indians

-changing the words of Estelle’s “american boy” to “south african boy” is perfectly acceptable

-when you get rolled into a parking lot of an unknown apartment complex and made to start a dance party, dont wonder why the hell the building is called “disney estates” and just chug

-please stop drinking more than 2 hours before you go into the office in the morning

..im starting to blog about my study in south africa???

so heres what i did yesterday:

lectures from patrick bond and then michael sutcliffe. entertaining. then went north beach viewing park to watch the bafana game (theyre out of the running now =( ), and thennn went to durban stadium w whizz kidz to watch nigera vs. korea. nigeria fans are very spirited.

BTW: all last week i worked for this initiative through an NGO called Whizz Kidz: Grassroots Soccer. one of my favorite moments of my week in Umlazi was when my kids asked me if he could start a breakdancing competition, and eventually the whole room broke into a dance circle accompanied by two of my kids banging out sweet beats on school desks.
